Professional History

Hi friends,

I am a professional pastry chef and freelance recipe developer based out of Toronto, Canada. I live with my boyfriend Marco and our springer spaniel, Riker.

Before graduating from Humber College’s Culinary Skills Program in 2010, I was an intern at Jules Patisserie in Toronto. After completing my studies, I was hired as their assistant pastry chef. In 2012, I became the head pastry chef at Mabel’s Bakery on Roncesvalles.

In October, 2013, I had my first recipe published in Canadian Living magazine. Having completed a four month internship developing recipes in the test kitchen, my inclusion in the October issue was the ‘icing on the cake’!

“This year, we had a great Test Kitchen intern named Tyler Christian Brown, who we absolutely loved. We loved him so much, in fact, that we had him develop a delicious cocktail for our October issue — and he did a fantastic job. We loved the fresh tropical flavours in this super stylish black and white martini.” – Canadian Living, November 23, 2013

I was asked by the editorial team at National Geographic Traveler if they could include my food photography in their June/July 2014 iPad issue. Obviously I was thrilled. I took this photo before tucking in to my first ever plate of momos at Kunga Restaurant, Darjeeling.
